FAQs
Q: |
What is a co-op? |
A: |
A cooperative (or co-op) is a collaborative community where all members share in the responsibilities of running the organization. At FFHC we rely on the participation of all families to contribute their time, talents, and energy in implementing our programs, events, and activities. While we do not provide umbrella oversight, record-keeping, or transcripts, we have a Board of Directors that oversees the co-op and offers support as needed. |

Are parents required to teach at FFHC? |
A: |
Parents are not required to teach during their first year, but they are required to stay on campus and assist with at least two of the there blocks each week. After the first year, parents are strongly encouraged to co-teach a class to gain experience. We strongly encourage parents to teach one class per academic year. This is essential to the co-ops functioning and keeping burn-out from happening with all parents. Parents who are not assigned to teach or assist in a class may be asked to substitute for absent members, depending on the needs of the day. |
